 Horseback
Riding
Horseback riding is available near the community of Audra.
Golf
You will find a golf driving range situated a few miles north of Belington on U.S. 250. as well as a nine-hole golf course off Route 119 with modest fees and golf cart rentals. The course is open to the public and has food service, changing rooms and club rentals.
Whitewater Rafting
Whitewater Rafting and Kayaking are available in Barbour and surrounding counties, on the Tygart Valley River at Arden and at Tygart Valley Falls. Information may be obtained by calling 1-800-USA-RAFT. Guides, rafts, equipment, and even lunch can be provided.
 Hunting
and Fishing
Hunting and Fishing are popular in the county, in the public areas of the State Parks, in the rivers, and on private land where access is obtainable. Licenses are available in stores throughout the county. Tackle, ammunition, and other equipment is generally available from merchants in Belington and Philippi.
Boating
A Boat ramp is located below the Covered Bridge on the Tygart Valley River in Philippi.
Bowling
The county's only bowling alley is across from the consolidated High School about six miles south of Philippi on U.S. 250.
City Parks
There are City Parks in Junior, Belington, and Philippi, all with picnicking facilities. Philippi also has a Public Swimming Pool open in the summer.
