Adaland
Restored Victorian mansion and gardens with 1870 house, carriage
house and barn on 22 acres. Open to the public for tours May thru
December. Weddings, receptions, conferences and meetings available.
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Furnished groom’s
room and bride’s suite. Victorian doll house in the nursery.

Anna Jarvis House
Restored home of founder of Mother’s Day. Mother’s Day
Celebration held 2nd Sunday in May. Located at Barbour & Taylor

Audra State Park
Located along the banks of the Middle Fork River; there are 365
acres with 65 campsites, swimming, picnicking and trout fishing.

Barbour County
Courthouse
Built in February 1903, it was constructed of hand-cut Hummelstown
stone. It replaced the first courthouse that housed Union troops
during the Civil War. Located on Main Street in Philippi (304) 457-4339
Barbour County Historical
Society Museum
Contains Civil War and other historical memorabilia from Barbour
County. It was opened in 1985 in a restored train depot at the east
end of the Covered Bridge in Philippi. (304) 457-4846
Carrolton
Covered Bridge
Built in 1856, it is the second longest and third oldest covered
bridge in WV. It spans the Buckhannon River. Located off U.S. Rt.
119 in Carrolton, WV.
Laurel
Mountain Battlefield
Located just 2 miles from Belington; this was the site where Confederate
General Robert S. Garnett camped with 2-3,000 troops. Pavillion

Moats
Falls
The Tygart Valley River that flows through Moatsville, WV is the
site of these beautiful, serene falls. This area is an outdoor lover’s
paradise.
Philippi
Covered Bridge
The only two-lane covered bridge still in use on a Federal highway.
Erected in 1852, it served the North and South during the Civil
War, has survived floods, ice jams and damage from trucks for 147
years. It was two-thirds destroyed by fire on February 2, 1989 but
has been completely restored using hand tools and carpentry methods
of the 19th century.

Valley Furnace
This old iron furnace, built in 1848, produced 4.5 tons of iron
